Nepali Temple

Shri Samrajeswar Pashupatinath Mahadev Mandir, commonly known as the Nepali Mandir, is a significant Hindu temple located in Varanasi. Constructed in the 19th century by King Rana Bahadur Shah of Nepal during his exile, it is a replica of the Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu.

The temple is renowned for its unique architecture, combining terracotta, stone, and wood, and is often referred to as "Mini Khajuraho" due to its intricate sculptures resembling those found in the Khajuraho Group of Monuments.

The temple took nearly three decades to complete, with construction continuing even after Rana Bahadur Shah returned to Nepal. His son, Girvan Yuddha Bikram Shah Deva, ultimately finished the project. The site includes the temple, adjacent areas, and a dharamshala, all belonging to the Nepal government.

Nestled among tamarind and peepal trees on Lalita Ghat, the Nepali Mandir is an architectural gem characterized by its pagoda style. It is located approximately 3.8 kilometers from Varanasi Junction railway station and close to the famous Manikarnika Ghat, making it a prominent landmark in the city.

नेपाली मंदिर

श्री सम्राजेश्वर पशुपतिनाथ महादेव मंदिर, जिसे आमतौर पर नेपाली मंदिर के रूप में जाना जाता है, वाराणसी में स्थित एक महत्वपूर्ण हिंदू मंदिर है। 19वीं शताब्दी में नेपाल के राजा राणा बहादुर शाह द्वारा अपने निर्वासन के दौरान निर्मित, यह काठमांडू में पशुपतिनाथ मंदिर की प्रतिकृति है। यह मंदिर अपनी अनूठी वास्तुकला, टेराकोटा, पत्थर और लकड़ी के संयोजन के लिए प्रसिद्ध है, और खजुराहो समूह के स्मारकों में पाई गई मूर्तियों जैसी जटिल मूर्तियों के कारण इसे अक्सर "मिनी खजुराहो" कहा जाता है। मंदिर को पूरा होने में लगभग तीन दशक लग गए, राणा बहादुर शाह के नेपाल लौटने के बाद भी निर्माण जारी रहा। उनके बेटे, गिरवन युद्ध बिक्रम शाह देव ने अंततः इस परियोजना को पूरा किया। इस स्थल में मंदिर, निकटवर्ती क्षेत्र और एक धर्मशाला शामिल है, जो सभी नेपाल सरकार से संबंधित हैं। ललिता घाट पर इमली और पीपल के पेड़ों के बीच स्थित, नेपाली मंदिर अपनी पगोडा शैली की विशेषता वाला एक वास्तुशिल्प रत्न है। यह वाराणसी जंक्शन रेलवे स्टेशन से लगभग 3.8 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर स्थित है और प्रसिद्ध मणिकर्णिका घाट के करीब है, जो इसे शहर का एक प्रमुख स्थल बनाता है।
